At SCO Engineering, LLC we pride ourselves on being the number one choice for engineering and surveying services. Our mission is to provide solutions and solve problems for our clients. Problems range from the need to design a system for a facility that meets very specific criteria with a fixed budget in mind to solving an issue with an existing system that is not operating as desired. As a consulting engineering firm we do not have a single type of system that we apply to every project that we are commissioned to do. We firmly believe that every client has unique needs in their facilities and how they will use them, maintain them, revise them, and the systems that we design must match with those needs. For example, a correctional facility will be occupied 24/7/365 and must remain this way. The systems that go into a facility of this type must be able to meet these needs. In this type of application the electrical systems will have electrical generators and battery units to provide uninterrupted power and lighting for security systems. The heating and cooling systems must have the ability to operate in harsh environments and have automatic sequences to deal with smoke evacuation and extreme temperature periods. The plumbing systems need to be online at all times and not be hampered by abuse. These systems will have backup systems and fail safe modes to ensure safety and security. On the other hand, a school typically has the need for a facility that will last for a long period of time and be serviceable while minimizing both operating costs and maintenance costs over the life of the system. Many school districts struggle with existing systems that are not functioning as intended and we are able to provide assistance to resolve these issues. Commercial spaces have a vastly different outlook that focuses on maximizing available space while minimizing the costs of the system. In most cases, these types of facilities do not have the staff to maintain large central plant systems. These types of projects typically require special attention to be paid to the aesthetics of the environment and the systems need to be in sync with the space. As consultants we strive to provide each client a unique solution that meets their needs, not the same solution that we provide to everyone because it is the only system that we know.
